You should say
Who is he/she?
How do you know him/her?
What kind of clothes he/she wears?
Why do you consider that his/her clothing choices are weird?

Answer: 1

Unusual means not habitual/commonly occurring. Nowadays, people mostly judge another person’s personality and behaviour through his/her dress. Most people used to wear formal and casual clothes that suit their personalities, but I saw some people who wore abnormal clothes or can say unusual garments.

Here I am going to talk about my neighbour, who wears unusual clothes. Her name is Nadim Ahmed. She is 25 years old and doing graduation at a local college. Her face complexion is not too far.

He wears very unusual clothes such as very bright colours and abnormal dress designs. She doesn’t only wear unique clothes but wears unusual footwear also. A few days ago, in December when most people wear woollen clothes, she wore a bright pink colour summer dress with red colour shoes. Everyone thought is she made. Some people also laugh at her, but she did not mind it.

I know her since childhood. I think it is not her fault, of wearing different designer clothes because her mother bought clothes for her when she was a child. So in that way she is habitual to wearing unusual clothes.

Answer 2:

Well, most people prefer to wear clothes in fashion because what they wear reveals a lot about their personality but, there are few who wear different or unusual clothes and I would take this opportunity’ to talk about “Ranveer Singh” a famous Bollywood personality.

Who always or mostly wear unusual clothes. Like million others, I am a great fan of this film star and I frequently follow him on social media such as twitter, Facebook. At the same time, I follow him in news a. well. I must say his dressing style is so different that I have never seen him dressed up as a normal guy.

There are so many things that makes his outfits uncommon and unusual. Firstly, if I talk about the choice of colors most men prefer to wear sober and light colors such as white, grey, blue, black. But, this guy mostly wear vibrant and florescent colors You can see him wearing orange, green, red and yellow in most public ceremonies.

At the same time, where most men give preference to plain fabric with some checks this guys choose Floral and geometric  prints which are totally uncommon when it comes to mens dressing. Now it may sound funny but recently. He was at an award ceremony and lie there. He was wearing a Jacket with a Pallazo.

Similarly, when was lately invited on a reality show on television. He was wearing a skirt with a t-shirt which shows that his dressing is influenced by women fashion What I personally believe he wants to be a trendsetters. He wants to change the perception of society that like women, men can also try different types of clothing and different styles of clothing.

No doubt, he has millions of fan who fanatically follow him and also try to dress up him like him. Overall, I would say that he is definitely one person who wears unusual clothes.

IELTS Speaking Part 3: Follow up Questions

Here are some examples of follow-up questions that you may asked during your speaking part 3 by the examiner related to cue card “describe a person who wears unusual clothes”.

1. Where do Indians normally buy clothes?
well, people visit a variety of shops and a mall to buy clothes. People who are not friendly with online shopping prefer to buy clothes from the local market but the young generation purchases clothes from online websites. People buy home-wear clothes from the street market because only street shops provide clothes at a very low price.

OR
Indians buy clothes from a variety of places. I think for fancy clothes people normally shop at malls or branded shops like Zara and for day-to-day or basically casual wear, people go to the street markets. Recently, many people have also started buying clothes online.

2. The difference between men’s and women’s choices of clothes?
Girls and boy children look the same, so they wear similar dress types, but as adults, there are body type differences, so they preferred to buy those clothes that suit their bodies and make them more attractive and give them a professional look. Another difference is the colour selection. Men mostly buy blue-white, grey and brown colours but women like bright colour such as pink, red, orange, green.
OR
I think the first difference is in the shades. Men go for slightly darker and sombre shades like blue, brown, and grey, while women go for brighter colours like pink, yellow, red, etc. Another difference is that most men prioritize comfort over fashion, while it is vice versa in women’s case.

3. Do clothes affect people’s mood?
Not even I but several studies show our mood can be affected depending on what we wear. Memories or emotions attached to our clothes can evoke excellent or bad feelings when we wear them. When a person, especially a woman, wears a new dress and gives her good comments, she always remembers it whenever she wore the dress. On the other hand, in some places such as office and hospital employees have to wear uniforms, and it doesn’t matter they like it or not at that time some people feel uncomfortable and sad.
OR
Yes, certainly. When people feel they look good in something, they feel more confident, which makes them more social and talkative. The comfort level also matters. If people feel they are uncomfortable in something, it also affects their mood negatively.

4. What do people consider when buying clothes?
People consider colour, quality and stuff mean is cloth is comfortable or not. Women consider one more thing, and that is unique because they want to look different.
OR
I think people consider many factors while buying clothes. Some of the main factors are cost, colour, brand, comfort, uniqueness, etc. Personally, I prioritize brand and comfort over other factors.
